Becoming a Member
Are you interesting in becoming a member of Perritte Memorial United Methodist Church?
If God is leading you to become a member of Perritte Memorial or to commit your life to Jesus Christ by publically professing your faith in Him we want to celebrate this very important moment with you. You are invited to come down to the altar area during the closing song at the end of the ervice were we will welcome you into this new commitment.
Receiving New Members
We receive new members in three different ways:
(1) by transfer from another United Methodist Church,
(2) by transfer from another denomination, and
(3) by profession of faith.
When joining you will be asked, "Will you be loyal to this United Methodist Church and uphold it with your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your service and your witness?"
Baptism
If you have already been baptized in a Christian Church we will honor and recognize your baptism. If you or any member of your family haven't been baptized then we'll be happy to celebrate God's grace to you through the sacrament of baptism. Not everybody knows this, but the United Methodist Church practices all three forms of baptism: sprinkling, pouring and immersion (We're maining known for sprinkling). We're set up and ready to go for sprinkling every Sunday and, when we know in advance, arrangements can be made for the other forms of baptism. As United Methodists we also celebrate infant baptism where we publically acknowledge and celebrate God's grace working in your child's life even before they come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
