A Little of Everything

There's plenty going of ministry going on both in and through Perritte Memorial UMC.  
You'll find that this is a very active church for its size.  Here are just some of the great ministries of PMUMC.

Outreach Ministries - Missions is at the heart of the Gospel and at the heart of our church.  During the summer we send short-term missionaries from our church to locations around the world.  Also in the summers our youth are involved in UMARMY outreaches here in the state of Texas.  We also provide many and various mission projects throughout the year such as outreaches to Nettie Marshall Elementary School, supporting and working with local mission agencies such as Godtel and Love Inc., week-long activities such as the Pioneer Park Ministry, providing supplies for UMCOR, Adopt a Block community service projects, and United Methodist Committee on Relief and Seaman's ministries.

Wonderful Wednesday's - Throughout the year, except for Summertime, Perritte has a wonderful time of fun, food, fellowship and growth together on Wednesday nights called Wonderful Wednesday's.  At 5:30 pm we all meet together in the Memorial Hall for a meal followed by age appropriate groups and classes from 6:00-7:00 pm.  For the children we have a brand new Children's Choir (see Children's page for more info.).  For youth we have a youth event.  For adults we have adult Bible studies along with other informative and interesting programs and ministries.  There is something for everyone, so be sure to come and join us.

Pie Dough Ministry - If there's one thing PMUMC has become known for it's the wonderful ministry of the Pie Dough Ladies.  This wonderful ladies in the church mix up some of the best old fashioned, homemade pie dough in all the world.  This ministry has been actively serving Nacogdoches and the surrounding area for years and people have traveled both near and far to pick up their pie dough.  If you are interested in trying some yourself please call our church office from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday at (936)564-8427 and talk to Sandra, our Church Secretary.

United Methodist Men (UMM) - If you're one of the guys and your looking for a fellowship of committed Christian men then UMM is for you.  These fella's are committed to each other and the ministries of our church.  They meet monthly for fellowship, food and a Christian message and program.  And these guys know how to eat!  Each month they gather around the table and fill their plates with wonderful food.  If you've never been before then consider yourself a welcome guest!

United Methodist Women (UMW) - These ladies are both committed to the Lord and committed to missions.  These women meet monthly for fellowship, food and a program on missions.  Many times their meetings are hands on and involve the preparing of mission kits for persons in need around the world.  They plan mission projects and head-up our outreach to Nettie Marshall Elementary School among many other worthwhile ministries.  Made up of adult women of all ages, this group is just waiting for you to bless them with your presence and will welcome you with open arms.

Thursday Night Women's Bible Study - Each Thursday night the women of the church gather for a meal and Bible study together at 6:00 p.m.  All women are invited to join.  The study revolves around a video based teaching time and discussion.  This is a wonderful group of ladies who share in the Word of God and His love to further grow as Christian disciples of Jesus Christ.

Annual Bazaar - The first Friday in November is Bazaar time around Perritte.  Each Bazaar is filled with wonderful goodies, crafts, quilts, and antiques for everyone.  Plus, on top of that a wonderful meal is served for all to enjoy.  Each year we pack out our Memorial Hall with people from around the city, county and beyond.  This is a fun time for all ages.  Months of planning and preparation go into each Bazaar.

Quilter - Every Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. our quilters get together for fellowship and quilting in the Memorial Hall.  These dedicated ladies make some of the most beautiful quilts and have a good time doing it.  The quilters always have an open chair if anyone would like to join them.
